5-step simple skincare regime
This is the 5-step simple skincare regime for those who are so short on time or have better things to do than stand in front of the mirror for 1 hr a day. I've learnt about 8-step, 10-step, 12-step regimes and to be honest, I just don't have the time or patience to keep that up. This regime works for me as it's pretty much the same thing morning and night, not too many fancy bells and whistles or application devices. Just super simple skincare.
About YonKa Paris:
My mother-in-law got me onto YonKa about three years ago. It's a simple, no non-sense skincare brand that leans towards essentials oils and plant botanicals, compared to nasty chemicals. I've been using their products on and off but when my skin went haywire, I decided to dive in and get myself the entire range. I haven't looked back.
About my skin:
Let me preface this blog post by saying it's not perfect. I had really great skin when I was pregnant and while breastfeeding. Once that stopped and my period resumed, it went absolutely haywire. I'm talking teenage years x 100 with pimples appearing on parts of my face I've never seen them appear on. My hormones were out of whack and I felt completely out of control and was desperate to try anything! So I visited my naturopath for some food/vitamin related tips and got myself on a real solid skincare regime. It's still not perfect but hey, what even is that?
Today I'm sharing part one of my skincare routine, what goes on the outside. Whether you're a working mama, stay-at-home hero, busy lady or just don't want to apply 50 products a night - here's my super simple routine (for day & night):
STEP ONE: Get clean with your favourite gentle cleanser. I use YonKa Cleansing Milk which is super creamy and soft on my skin.
STEP TWO: Exfoliate. This is something I need to do more frequently as my skin is super rough & often problematic. Adjust depending on your skin type.
STEP THREE: Eau Micellair (magic water). Apply using a cotton pad will also remove any left-over makeup. Spritz with Toner afterwards.
STEP FOUR: Super Serum. I've only just got into serum lately (I use Serum Vital), but it makes such a difference when your skin is dull and lacking pep.
STEP FIVE: Moisturize + add SPF in the morning. Hydra No.1 is my numero uno. It's light and doesn't leave your skin feeling too sticky. Also - putting makeup on top of it once dry, is a breeze!
Let me know what you do differently or if you have any hacks/improvements.
