I don't know about you but for me getting dressed for work tends to be more difficult in the Summer. The Winter you can just thrown on a coat, a nice sweater, trousers & heeled boots and you're good to go.

With Summer, it's always a fine line between staying cool but not looking too casual. As much as I'd love to wear slip-on slides and a t-shirt dress 5 days a week to work, I'm feeling that look isn't probably going to be appropriate for most workplaces. So I paired this winning combo which I'm about to breakdown:

1. Minimal yet refined jewelry - I picked out these goodies from Mejuri. The white gold sphere ring hasn't come off my finger since we shot this (24/7 rotation much) and the earrings are a really nice touch to elevate a simple look.

2. Flowy yet cropped blouse - this blouse literally goes with everything. It pairs perfectly with trousers or even a high waist skirt. A window pane or stripe print adds some interest to the overall outfit.

3. White jeans - don't be afraid! It takes time to find a good pair, but once you've found one that suits, never let them go! These Rachel Comey's are ridiculously comfortable and also make your butt look mighty fine. The trifecta: high rise, slight crop and some kind of detail e.g. fray or distressed. The frayed detail adds texture to the outfit and these can be worn all year round (imagine paired with a soft grey or cream sweater :O).

4. Shoes & bag - 'make sure your shoes are always polished' is what my Dad loved to tell me back when I lived at home. It honestly makes a great impression when your shoes are clean and your handbag is looking super slick. Worth the investment if you ask me.

Anyway, that's my outfit broken down.. would love to hear what you think or if you'd like to see more of these kinds of outfits.
